License and Construction Riders
Your housing license is a signed agreement with MIT that outlines your financial responsibility as well as the rules and procedures you must follow as a resident of on-campus housing. It includes your name, room type, the building that you have been assigned to, and the end date of your housing assignment. You sign your housing agreement within the housing portal when you select a unit through self-selection or renew an assignment for the next academic year.
2024-2025 License AgreementEach spring, Housing & Residential Services will provide a construction rider for all new and returning residents to review and sign before confirming their graduate housing assignment.
These riders are designed to provide more information about large construction projects that are expected to occur in and around the graduate residence halls along with anticipated impacts so that you have a better understanding of what to expect before you commit to living in a particular building.
While these riders are comprehensive, and we work closely with our campus partners to identify as much work as possible, it is important to know that there may be additional projects that arise at any time, including those initiated by the City of Cambridge and the local utility companies. We hope that you will find the information in these riders helpful and informative.
